Colourful Wallpaper and Paint Mood boards to kickstart your interior decor ideas!

I am very excited to announce that I am going to be giving a talk at the next Society of British and International Interior Design (

SBID)

event held here in Edinburgh which is an evening dedicated to my favourite subject - Colour!

This invitation only event is going to be held at

Craig & Rose

,

the UK's oldest premium paint manufacturer, who are opening the doors of their dynamic new showroom here in Stockbridge and I'm thrilled to be a part of it!

I am going to be sharing an insight into the inspiration and design process behind my latest collections, accompanied by a presentation of mood boards using Craig & Rose paint together with my Mairi Helena textiles and wallpaper. In preparation for my talk, I have been creating a number of mood boards showing several ideas on different colour schemes and ways in which my Mairi Helena fabrics and wallpapers can be styled for room interiors alongside the Craig & Rose paint ranges. I have been sharing a number of these mood boards on my Instagram feed over the last couple of weeks and have been delighted with the response to them and so thought it was high time that I shared my room decor ideas here with you too!I hope that the mood boards below give you some decor ideas for colours schemes as well as wallpaper and fabric choices for your own home projects and interiors. I'd love to know which mood board is your favourite - please feel free to leave a comment below.Mood board OneMairi Helena Crossing Tides Fabric and Wallpaper Here I have paired my Mairi Helena Crossing Tides Wallpaper and linen union fabric together with Craig and Rose paint colour Pentland from their 1892 Vintage Colour range. I love the versatility of Pentland, with it's rich earthy peaty tones. Mix with neutrals and hints of warm honey yellows. How about playing with pattern and introducing some houndstooth check and plaid fabrics such as the patterns seen in the Bute Fabric swatches top left. Mood board Two Mairi Helena Island Botanist Fabric and Wallpaper Here I have paired my Mairi Helena Island Botanist Wallpaper and Velvet fabric together with popular colour Payne's Grey from Craig and Rose. Island Botanist gives real impact against a strong bold hue on the wall and Payne's Grey fits the bill perfectly. Play on touches of ochre and turquoise for accent colours around the room. Mood board Three Mairi Helena Summer Thistle Fabric and Wallpaper Sometimes it's just too difficult to narrow down! Here I've presented two paint colour options in which to decorate my Mairi Helena Summer Thistle around. Summer Thistle Wallpaper works well setting it off against a strong paint shade on the wall such as Craig and Rose Pullman Green. Alternatively you may decide to decorate with paint and introduce fabric as splashes of colour in the soft furnishings. Craig and Rose Kitchen Gold can act as a warm backdrop and help your interior to feel Summery and rich all year round. Mood board Four Mairi Helena Highland Tundra WallpaperKeeping with the neutrals, my Mairi Helena Highland Tundra Wallpaper harmonises perfectly with Craig and Rose Tintern Stone . Neutrals can work beautifully alongside plenty of natural textures such as wood, ceramic and foliage.
