How to decorate your home with Mairi Helena Fabrics and Wallpapers

I’ve been receiving lots of lovely enquiries recently about advice on choosing paint colours to coordinate alongside my latest Mairi Helena Homelands Collection! So you have all kindly spurred me along to write a little blog post looking at some thoughts and ideas that I’ve had on paint colours that complement my velvet and linen fabrics. Plus I’ve included a few ideas of coordinating fabrics too which I hope may help provide some ideas for your upcoming home interior decorating projects..

Island Botanist

So let’s start with my Mairi Helena

Island Botanist Fabric

and

Paint Colours

.

Pair with the inky tones of

Farrow & Ball

Hague Blue or if you’d like to go a shade lighter then consider Stiffkey Blue.

 .

Fabrics

 .

In my mood board above I’ve included a striking ‘Tessella Peacock’ from Sanderson, a stripy silk called ‘Mayan Sun’ from

Jim Thomson

and I’ve picked out ochre colours with the help of a Zoffany Linen  ‘Cybele Amber and a ‘Boho Velvets Old Gold’ from

Sanderson

Hebridean Homeland

Ideas include

Farrow & Ball

Lamp Room Grey or Elephant’s Breath

My mood board features a beautiful dappled fabric from

Anthology

called 'Odoko Jade/Brass' as well as a fabric which pulls out the greys and hint of purple called 'Misty Haze Grape’ from

Sanderson

Ooh there’s so may options! If you’re really wanting to make a statement and style it dark then how about

Farrow & Ball

Railings or alternatively the lovely rich purple tones of Pelt or deep Mahogany.

 .

Fabrics

 .

I’d recommend keeping it rich and cosy and opting for a soft plush velvet. The purple velvet featured above is called ‘Boho Velvets Fig’ from

Sanderson

. The beautiful bird linen fabric featured also is called ‘Indigo Ink’ from

Jim Thomson..

Crossing Tides

Moving onto

Mairi Helena Crossing Tides Fabric

Farrow & Ball’s

soft Calluna or Brassica.

I’ve styled my Crossing Tides fabric and wallpaper in my mood board above with another beautiful Jim Thomson linen called ‘Lilac’ as well as the ‘Misty Haze Grape’

Sanderson fabric

featured in my Hebridean Homeland mood board.
