Check out my Mairi Helena Scottish Thistle Fabric in Edinburgh's newly renovated Wedding Venue!

Last month celebrated the first wedding since the recently renovated City Chambers on Edinburgh's Royal Mile and I'm thrilled to share that my Mairi Helena Grey Tailor Thistle Velvet has made it's mark on the venue! This lovely venue nestled in the heart of the city upon one of Edinburgh's most iconic streets, now boasts a fabulous and very special wedding suite in which to say 'I do'. There has been a flurry of wedding activity since the Edinburgh venue opened it's doors to the first couple earlier in March and I'm delighted to think that my Mairi Helena Grey Tailor Thistle fabric can be part of so many couples special wedding day.The suite comprises a wonderful collection of locally sourced materials, including beautiful bespoke oak furniture from the Grassmarket Community Project as well as Scottish tweed from Bute Fabrics. The Wedding Suite comprises of three rooms, two of which are for the wedding ceremony itself and the third a wedding reception room with stunning views across to Princes Street.I had no idea that Edinburgh is second to Gretna Green in popularity of places to get married, did you?! Neither did I know it was also a popular destination for couples travelling from outside of the country. But on reflection, Edinburgh is one of those city's that you visit and simply fall in love with, so it should come as no surprise really! Here a few more pictures showcasing my Mairi Helena Grey Tailor Thistle Velvet which has been used to upholster the furniture in the wedding suite, including the exquisite chairs in the main ceremony room as well as on a grand pouffe and armchairs in the reception. You'll also spot my Grey Tailor Thistle linen union fabric as bespoke lampshades which I made, specially requested for the venue.  I love the attention to detail by the designer of the suite, Lesley McMillan, who also used my Grey Tailor Thistle velvet on the buttons of the wedding ceremony chairs as well as my Grey Tailor Thistle Wallpaper in a frame which sits on the mantelpiece in the reception room.I do hope that this delightful Edinburgh City Chambers wedding venue in the heart of the city is enjoyed by many happy couples in the years to come!
