NEW: Iona's Animal World Mural

Designed for my daughter Iona and her early love of animals, in collaboration with illustrator Kate Slater. I’m really excited to reveal ‘ Iona’s Animal World Mural’, based on my Iona Seascape Mural, which is a design inspired by a glorious summer day on the Isle of Iona. This mural combines my photography based design from the Island’s picturesque land and sea spray shores, together with Kate’s beautifully illustrated puffins, hares, blue tits and great tits.

This mural has been something I’ve be keen to put together since little Iona entered the world last June. With lockdown putting a stop to what would have been a special family trip out to the island last month, it was the perfect excuse to crack on with creating this design together with the talented Kate. The mural has helped bring a little bit of the western island life into our home here in Edinburgh for her. 

I’ve paired here with Craig & Rose Wedgewood Lilac on the walls and Steel Pole on the radiator. Elsewhere in the room we will also be using Craig & Rose Pentland on the furniture, I look forward to sharing more soon! 

I love the scale of murals. It’s like having a wall as a very big window. Especially during lockdown, it now feels like we have a room in which to escape into the wilderness.

I hope this mural may also help to bring colour into other people’s homes too and add a playful, outdoor scene. A bit of outdoors in. Whether this be for a nursery, playroom or grown up wall.
