Since moving to Edinburgh at the end of last year, I have had an amazing opportunity in the city to develop my interest in screen printing to a whole new level. I've always been interested in silk screen printing and love getting messy with colourful paints, squeegees and screens. Painting with screens and stencils is therefore totally up my street! The amazing thing that I've found about Edinburgh is the wide variety and scope of classes, studio facilities and teaching available to everyone. Whether you're looking at screen printing as a hobby which you'd like to develop further or if your an artist or designer looking to explore printed textile techniques for your own designs, the opportunities and facilities out there are amazing. So here are details of 3 screen printing studios of which I've been lucky enough to be a student at over the last 9  months - so I can vouch for all!Edinburgh Design SchoolCheck out the evening and weekend courses in Foundation Screen Printing training at the Edinburgh Design School held at St Margarets House. Brilliant evening class, good pace, good facilities, lovely teachers, great classmates and opportunity to experiment with your ideas. Here I am hard at work experimenting with screen printing my Scottish Thistles and tartans!

PROCESS STUDIOSAnother great studio for artists and designers in Edinburgh is Process Studios on Easter Road. Process Studios offers a wide range of classes, workshops, one-to-ones and studio access for learning about upholstery, jewellery, pottery, printed textiles, Lino, weave and many many more! So if you've been an avid fan of the Great Pottery Throw Down that hit our screens earlier this year, then why not head along to Process Studios and have a go?AMBER ARTS STUDIOAnd last but not least on my list is Amber Arts at 78 Montrose Terrace. There's wonderful inspirational prints for sale in the gallery from well known local artists, which are extremely tempting indeed. And tucked away down the stairs hidden down below the gallery, is an perfectly equipped screen printing studio in which you can create screen prints to your hearts content! Amber Arts run really good small private workshops and classes in collograph, monoprinting, etching, screen printing and relief printing. So there we have it! 3 wonderfully equipped screen printing studios in Edinburgh all offering amazing tuition, facilities and classes. If you're looking for an Edinburgh evening class for the Autumn, I recommend getting in touch with these studios!Hope you enjoy!X
