And so it calls for a photo stop tour (thanks to the wonderful Dominic Wright Photography) of our wedding, accompanied by the words of a certain poem which some of you might remember....
"From the Girl Next Door"
From the girl next door, to a boy across the streetCome these words from within,Which make my heart beat.
Let me take you through our journey, from the moment we meet.
I was five, you were six. we were street mates from the startSchool runs, party games,We were never far apart.
Douglas Road, it seems, is where good things always start...
And so it began one night, when we took a midnight Eildon walk.Excited chat, nervous laughs,The hills knew our secret talk.
And I knew back then, that I had met the man who'd steal my heart.
You are patient, you are kind, you are everything I askYou hold my hand through ups and downsAt times, I know, a task...
From Brindisi to Birmingham, Morocco, Rome or Spain,No matter where you ended up,You'd fly back home again.
You always know, you're always there, you sweep me off my feetYou always think, you always careYou make me so complete.
So we begin adventures new, hand in hand, side by side.I can't wait to explore the world with you,Let's stay on this whirlwind ride!
So come and fly the skies with me, let's dance and swing our kilts! For I have met my one true love, my only love,
...My Mr Captain Richard Wilks.
