I'm thrilled to be taking part in a Luxe Home Pop Up together with bespoke bed linen brand Gilly Nicholson and luxury candle company Goldhart! The event is going to be taking place in the beautiful Louise Bramhill Interiors showroom at 47 Haggs Road, Glasgow on Saturday 6th October from 12-5pm and is being organised by the super lovely Kay of KQ Marketing!Delighted to share with you below a guest post by Kay which outlines the details of the event as well as introduced you to all the brands taking part.We hope to see you there!

Interiors inspirationAfter some months of discussion, and trying to find a date that works for numerous very, busy, people, I’m happy to say that we have a pop-up shop organised for the 6th of October at Louise Bramhill Interiors showroom in Glasgow. Louise Bramhill is an experienced Interior Designer, featured numerous times in Homes and Interiors Scotland, and works on residential and commercial projects in and around Central Scotland.  Louise and I are looking forwarding to hosting three of Scotland’s most up and coming homewares brands on the southside of Glasgow.  The free, afternoon, event will be a relaxed occasion with a glass of prosecco and nibbles and an opportunity to meet three fantastic homewares brands.Featured brandsLet me introduce you to our featured brands, their stories, and a little insight into the inspiring business women behind them. MAIRI HELENAMairi Helena is an up and coming printed textile business from Edinburgh.   Mairi was recently featured in Homes and Interiors Scotland with an eight page spread showcasing her colourful home, beautiful textiles, and photography.  A keen photographer, and Scottish outdoors enthusiast, Mairi’s work is inspired by her surroundings which translate into vibrant thistle and plaid prints.  The stunning designs are available as fabric by the metre, wallpaper, cushions, lampshades and scarves.I met Mairi after seeing her work in the press and on social media.  I contacted her to see if she would be interested in a collaboration for a bedroom furniture company that I was working with at the time.  She was such a delight to work with and the finished headboard was a stunner and is featured in the current edition of Homes and Interiors Scotland. Q. Where does your design inspiration come from? A. I feel very lucky to have developed a business that combines everything I’m passionate about. I love photography, being close to nature and exploring Scotland’s landscapes, in particular the West Coast of Scotland - I’m fascinated by reflections and water edges. I design from my photographic portfolio of textures, colours and details within the beautiful Scottish countryside. Q. What projects/events have you been involved with this year that you have found really exciting? A. I launched my second collection ‘Homelands’ earlier this year at The Scottish Interiors Showcase back in February. Homelands is inspired by textures, colours and patterns of my favourite local landscapes.I love the opportunity of a pop up and was lucky enough to have a pop up event earlier this year at the stylish Peden & Pringle showroom here in Colinton, Edinburgh. It’s great to have the opportunity to meet everyone in person and for the chance for my fabrics and wallpapers to be visualised in person too. Q.Which is your favourite room in your house and why? A. I love our living room because it’s nestled in the rooftops and as we still have no curtains up, we can see straight across to the Pentland Hills at night time. It’s very cosy with our stove in the Winter too. I have my Harris Green Thistle Wallpaper as a feature wall around my fireplace, one of my very first designs!Q. Do you have a favourite place in your home city? A. I love strolling along the Water of Leith, particularly on Sundays as we can walk straight along into Stockbridge and visit the Stockbridge Market to source local food and produce (often a cake for me, I have a sweet tooth and can never resist!)GOLDHARTFounded by Lorraine McKenna, Goldhart produces luxury, candles inspired by the romance and folklore of Scotland.  The five fragrances - Amber, Glen, Shore, Bramble and Wild Rose - conjure up images of the majestic, Scottish landscape from dramatic Highlands to breathtaking beaches.  Goldhart candles retail at Gleneagles and Monachyle Mhor hotels and have recently been showcased internationally as demand is growing.  Lorraine was on a recent trade mission to Berlin with First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon.Lorraine and I were introduced through a mutual friend who is currently representing Goldhart in Dubai, where there is always demand for style and luxury.  I love that Lorraine, who was previously a buyer for Cruise, has put her knowledge and passion into creating such an exquisite brand. Q. Lorraine, is there a business person who inspires you and why? A. My old boss, Jim Gibson, because he taught me the foundations on how to run and scale a business. Q. Where does your design inspiration come from?A. Scotland’s rich and fragrant landscape.Q.  What projects/events have you been involved with this year that you have found really exciting? A. Index trade show in Dubai. Emirates are passionate about fragrance, the trade show provided a fascinating insight into the emirati culture and how they use fragrance, individually but particularly for the home. Q. Which is your favourite room in your house and why? A. The kitchen, heart of the home. Q. Do you have a favourite place in your home city? A. Ubiquitous Chip, Ashton lane, because even on the most miserable and gloomy of Glasgow nights as soon as you walk into the Chip’s court yard you feel instantly transported by the Mediterranean al fresco feel of the place.GILLY NICHOLSONGilly Nicolson produces luxurious, handmade, pure, Egyptian cotton bed linen with the finest ribbons and trims.  A huge range of design and colour options is available, since the bed linen is custom made, customers can create something entirely unique with their bespoke option.  At Decorex this year Gilly Nicolson will launch a new collection of pillows, duvets and mattress toppers.Gilly’s custom-made, bespoke, bed linen perfectly complemented the custom made beds and mattresses of a company I worked with previously.  Gilly and I felt that there was a benefit to be had from working together and she kindly lent me some of her beautiful bed linen for a photo shoot.   I loved Gilly’s open and friendly manner and the fact that she puts the customer at the centre of her business.Q. Gilly, Is there a business person who inspires you and why?A. I’ve always been inspired by Jo Malone – she set out to create something really beautiful but also presented to such a high standard, which is so important with a luxury product. My husband recently set up his own business too, so from time to time we like to try and compare ourselves to the husband and wife time who set up The White Company and Charles Tyrwhitt. We’re a little way off yet though!Q. Where does your design inspiration come from?A. I like to keep things really simple because of the nature of the product – bedrooms should be calming and restful. Recently I’ve been quite influenced by the fact I have 2 little boys. I’m just in the process of launching a gorgeous children’s bedlinen collection which I’ve designed with Cotton & Company. They boys have already chosen their favourites!Q.What projects/events have you been involved with this year that you have found really exciting?A.We’ve just completed an incredible project for a 13-bedroom property in London. The colours for each room were based on semi-precious stones, it was all incredibly beautiful. The rumour is it was for international royalty!Q.Which is your favourite room in your house and why?A.Definitely our sitting room – we have windows overlooking the garden and I’ve kept the colour scheme quite neutral with pops of teal, navy and yellow. It’s such a relaxing space once I’ve tidied up the lego…Q.Do you have a favourite place in your home city?A.I’m incredibly lucky to have been able to come back to the same part of Edinburgh that I grew up in. It’s leafy, quiet, and really near the hills which I couldn’t live without.
