Five Top Interior shops in Edinburgh to source your Lux Deco!
Are you stuck for where to shop to source your luxury homewares in Edinburgh? Are you looking for bespoke interior design or vintage furniture? Or maybe some artisan home deco? Or maybe you just feel like doing a bit of luxury retail therapy for your home interiors........we need no excuse!Well I have put together a list for you that may just tick all the boxes! My top five Edinburgh interior finds include a luxury interior design showroom, an independent furniture boutique, a gallery, a high street store and a homeware and lifestyle brand (and a sneaky one right at the end!) all located right in the heart of the city. 1. Homer
Climb the stairs and enter this amazing Homer homewares store and be ready to be inspired by a handpicked collection of vintage furniture, woollen throws, gorgeous pottery and many wonderfully tempting interior accessories for your home. I just love the layout of Homer, with beautifully curated collections of delightful homewares in every corner you turn.
We treated ourselves to the amazing Broste nordic pottery collection (wedding present gift!) and every time we pass the door of Homer we are easily tempted back in to soak in the wonderful homewares and guiltily buy another pottery piece to add to our collection!
2. Jeffreys Interiors
This highly reputable interior design house is a must to seek out. Whether you're looking for an expert team to chat through your design ideas for your home or project or if you wish to be inspired by their wonderful showroom, Jeffrey's Interiors will be able to help you out.The showroom holds an abundance of bespoke furniture and accessories to view as well as a wonderful collection of fabric and paper libraries. Luxury deco here you come!!
I'm just back from looking around their exquisite showroom this morning as Jeffrey's interiors are currently holding open days on the third Saturday of every month. This is a perfect opportunity to chat directly with the lovely designers and source lux deco for your own home interiors!3. Anthropologie
Ahhh Anthropologie. Here is where I enter a shop and become lost in time and distracted by many beautiful, colourful interior home accessories. I leave with my purse distinctly emptier but my smile distinctly wider.
Luckily I have the novelty of an Anthropologie voucher thanks to a recent birthday and so I was delighted to be able to browse the beautiful printed textiles, vibrant cushions & throws, painted china (Dog-a-Day Dessert plates currently my top favourite!) with my token in mind.
And what an extra bonus discovery to find Anthropologie's new A/W collection at the back of the shop. Time lapse...changing room dilemmas...so many lovely silky skirts....decision made.....purchase and leave with an Anthropologie shopping bag....feeling smug.
4. Pad Lifestyle
Seek out this wonderful shop on Howe Street to get your contemporary homewares fix! Hosting a wonderfully curated collection of home accessories and textiles, from smaller independent designers to well renowned fabric collections including Designers Guild and Christian Lacroix. Alongside luxury fabrics, browse modern furniture, inspiring design books, cool denims and clever lighting accessories. The range is sophisticated, classy and a must go when seeking original art and design for your home. 5. Gallery of Modern Art A stones throw away from me, I am often to be found immersed in the wonder curated collection of accessories and gifts in the Gallery of Modern Art shops.
Here you can find lovely contemporary homewares amongst the art books and fine art prints. And even better there's two in one so to speak, with Gallery One and Gallery Two each hosting their own gift shop! And very handily they are located next to the Gallery cafe which has to be one of the absolute best places to go for plum tart! lastly I have a sneaky addition....and suggest my interiors label as a 6th...Mairi Helena
If you're looking for a range of luxury velvet cushions and fabrics, decorative wallpapers for a dramatic feature wall or a designer lampshade, then do check out the Mairi Helena range! Working from my sunny base in Edinburgh...
Mairi Helena designs are created through taking elements of my photographic portfolio of Scotland, to produce abstract surface pattern prints with a luxury fine art feel. You can check out the full interiors collection on our online shop here!
